Something Fun for Everyone!

Visit the 29 acres of passive and active recreational opportunities at 4725 Springdale Road, 1 mile west of Northgate Mall in the heart of Colerain Township.  Colerain Park has something for everyone.  Please check out what we have to offer!

4 Park Shelters

Colerain Park has 4 shelters available for picnics.  The shelters can be reserved daily from April 15 through October 15 of each year for an $90 fee for residents and $150 for non-residents.  Reservations are accepted beginning March 1 of each year for residents and April 1 for non-residents. Please click here for more information on reserving a shelter at Colerain Park.

All four shelters are clearly numbered.  At least one picnic table in each shelter is wheelchair accessible.  Shelter #1, which is closest to Megaland, and shelter #2, close to the sand volleyball court and horseshoes,  have 10 picnic tables each and will hold approximately 80-100 children and adults.    Shelters #3 and #4, located in the section as you first drive in, have 8 picnic tables each and will hold approximately 65-80 people.  All four shelters have charcoal grills as well as electrical outlets available for your use.

In addition to the four shelters available for picnics, Colerain Park has several picnic tables in open areas throughout the park available on a first come, first served basis.  Most of the tables are in quiet, secluded areas next to or under large shade trees and have charcoal grills available.

Megaland

Colerain Megaland, the first community built playground in the Tri-State area, was built by the community in the late 1990′s.

This huge wooden structure has endless play areas to stretch the imagination and energy of children of every age and physical ability.  Megaland is handicapped accessible.

In addition to Megaland, Colerain Park has two additional play areas for children.  The original Colerain Park playground equipment is just to the east of Megaland.  There is also a tot land playground and swings next to Shelter #3.

 Walking Trail

Stay in shape year round using our walking path winding through Colerain Park.  The outer loop, which takes you around the football field track, is 1 mile long.  If you skip the football field track, you still have 3/4 mile of trail to enjoy!

Even if you don’t want to walk the path, please enjoy our path’s boardwalk area.  This scenic, well shaded portion of the path is in a wetland area and is home to many wildlife species.  Have a seat at one of the picnic benches along the boardwalk and enjoy your surroundings!

Pets

Pets are welcome at Colerain Park.  What better place to exercise them than on the walking trail?  But please remember that all pets in Colerain Park must be kept on a leash, maximum six feet in length, at all times.  Pets are to be kept under physical control and not be a nuisance or danger to other park users.  No pets are allowed on the ball fields or in the dugouts.  Also, be considerate of other park goers.  If your pet “drops” something, please use our Mutt-Mitts conveniently placed throughout the park to remove their waste.

Wildflowers

As you walk along the trail, enjoy the environmentally friendly and beautiful wildflowers that stretch along the borders of our path.

Baseball Fields

The two baseball fields at Colerain Park are truly high quality facilities for the youth of Colerain Township.  Each field has two dugouts and home plate.  The fields are manicured daily to maintain a superb playing surface.  Both fields have blue seats from the Bengals days at Riverfront Stadium available for spectators.

Field #1, recently renamed Foglesong Field, is closest to Megaland with the outfield facing the amphitheater.  Field #1 has an infield with 80 ft. bases and a 250 ft. outfield.  Field #1 has a pitcher’s mound and is recommended for children 14 and under.

Field #2 is the one closest to Springdale Road with the outfield facing Colerain Elementary.  Field #2 has an infield with 60 ft. bases and a 200 ft. outfield.  This field does not have a pitchers mound and is recommended for children 12 and under.

Both fields are rented seven days a week by local athletic associations for a season running from April 1st through the end of July.  When the fields are not being used by the athletic associations, they are available on a first come, first served basis for the community.  Fields will be closed if they are too wet.  If you would like to obtain more information about Colerain Park ball field rental, please call Joe Molter at 513.385.7503.

Conveniently located between the two ball fields is a concession stand.  Enjoy all of the traditional concession favorites such as hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, nachos, candy and a variety of beverages.  During morning ball games, stop by the concession stand for a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate!  Concession stand hours will vary.

Amphitheater

Another spectacular feature at Colerain Park is the outdoor amphitheater.  Located behind the baseball fields, the complex has tiers of seating built into the ground that are large enough for a large picnic blanket or lawn chair.  The stage has a 34′ x 25′ cement floor with 24 spotlights shinning down from the beautiful wood roof.   Both the amphitheater stage and seating area are handicapped accessible.

FREE weekly entertainment is offered at the amphitheater during the months of June, July and August.  Click here for a complete schedule of free summer entertainment!  The Amphitheater is available for rent when not in use by the Township.  Please call the Parks & Services Office at 513.385.7503 to obtain information on renting the amphitheater.

Other Park Activities

In addition to all of the features described above, Colerain Park has many other enjoyable features and activities.

A newly renovated full basketball court is located just behind Megaland.  There are wild flower areas as well as a bevy of new tree species that will provide shade on those hot summer days in the years to come.  There are two new restroom facilities to add to the existing tornado shelter restrooms.  The horseshoe pits have been updated and the sand volleyball court has been renovated.  Free Movies in the Park will continue during the summer on the second and fourth Fridays in June, July and August.  We also have a Concerts in the Park series each summer in addition to other evening entertainment.

For any additional information on Colerain Park, please call 513.385.7503.  We hope you enjoy your visit to this beautiful park!
