Starting in the Summer of 2021, goats from TreeYo Permaculture were brought in to temporarily live at Colerain Park to eat honeysuckle, the invasive vegetation behind the amphitheater, eradicating the plant from the area.
Goats are well known for their prolific eating habits, and as herbivores, they are perfect for eradicating honeysuckle in a natural, environmentally friendly way. They love honeysuckle and will eat it, over the course of a couple growing seasons, to the point where it will not grow back, leaving the area open for native plants.
The goats will return in 2022 to continue their "work" in Colerain Park!
