Comprehensive Zoning Resolution Update

The goal of this Comprehensive Zoning Resolution Amendment is to update the current Colerain Township Zoning Resolution to better align with the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan, Imagine Colerain. Ultimately, the desire is to amend the Zoning Resolution to allow Colerain Township to effectively implement sound planning and development practices as a means to guide Colerain Township to becoming the premier location within the Cincinnati area for businesses, and families in which to live, work, and play.

Project Description

Planning in Colerain was initialized in the mid 1960’s and was administered by the Hamilton County Rural Planning Commission (RPC). In 1994, the residents of Colerain Township voted to establish township zoning, and the Colerain Township Zoning Resolution was established. The current Resolution underwent a comprehensive text amendment in 2006, and currently consists of sixteen articles, twelve single letter zoning districts, and six special zoning districts. The current zoning districts are a mix of Euclidean, and planned development districts. Colerain Township is a “Limited Home Rule” Township as described in O.R.C; Chapter 504. A copy of the current Zoning Resolution can be found on the Township website at:
